Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about C-Sky Photonic products, binoculars, spotting scopes and telescopes.
What products does C-Sky Photonic offer?
C-Sky Photonic offers binoculars, spotting scopes, hunting and sports optics, tripods, monopods, extension rods, heads and other optical components. Use the Products section to browse by category and subcategory.
How do I choose the right binoculars?
Start with your intended use, then compare magnification, objective diameter, field of view, eye relief, optical coatings, weight and minimum focus distance. For handheld observation, a moderate magnification is often easier to keep steady than a very high magnification.
What do numbers such as 8x42 or 10x50 mean?
The first number is magnification and the second is the objective-lens diameter in millimetres. For example, 8x42 means 8x magnification with 42 mm objective lenses.
What is the difference between Roof Prism and Porro Prism binoculars?
They use different prism layouts to fold the optical path. Roof-prism binoculars generally have a straighter, more compact body, while Porro-prism binoculars usually have a wider offset body and a different optical geometry.
Can binoculars be used for astronomy?
Yes. Binoculars are useful for the Moon, bright star clusters, large nebulae and wide star fields. A tripod adapter and stable support can be especially helpful with higher magnification or larger objective lenses.
What is a spotting scope used for?
A spotting scope is a compact high-magnification instrument for long-distance viewing such as wildlife observation, nature study, target observation and other applications where more magnification is useful.
What is the purpose of a tripod, monopod or extension rod?
A tripod provides three-point support for stable, hands-free shooting or observation. A monopod offers lighter one-point support, while an extension rod increases reach or height for compatible cameras, optical equipment and accessories.
What does a tripod head do?
The head is the control mechanism between the support legs and the mounted equipment. Depending on the design, it can provide pan, tilt, locking, positioning and other movement controls.
How do I know whether a product will fit my tripod or head?
Check the product specifications for mounting thread size, payload capacity, compatible equipment and interface details. When in doubt, compare the specifications of both products before mounting them.
How should I clean coated optical lenses?
Remove loose dust first with a suitable air blower. Then use optical-cleaning materials intended for coated lenses. Avoid rubbing a dry lens surface and avoid household glass cleaners or abrasive materials.
How should I store binoculars and other optics?
Keep optical equipment dry, protected from excessive heat and dust, and stored with lens caps where supplied. If an instrument has been exposed to moisture, allow it to dry properly before long-term storage.
Where can I find technical specifications?
Open the relevant product page to view its specification table and technical-information sections. Catalogs and brochures can also be downloaded from supported product pages.
Where can I download a product catalog?
Use the Catalog option on a product page where it is available. Catalogs are grouped according to the relevant product family, so one download can contain the products in that catalog group.
Where can I find product prices?
Product pricing is shown through the Buy Now action on supported product pages. This keeps the normal product-information view focused on specifications while providing the price when you are ready to enquire or purchase.
Where can I get product support?
Use the Support page for product-related enquiries. You can also use the Dealer page to locate available dealers and the Contact page for general communication.
